It’s that time of year again! This holiday season, CDW Healthcare teamed up with Cisco and Ergotron to bring the children of Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, an unforgettable visit from Santa Claus as part of Cisco’s annual Santa Connection program.

Cisco’s Santa Connection brings holiday cheer to hospitals nationwide each year, and this year CDW Healthcare and its partners gave the children at Blank Children’s Hospital the opportunity to tell virtual Santa their own holiday wishes. CDW Healthcare, Cisco and Ergotron coworkers dressed as elves to escort Santa around the hospital using tablets, mobile carts and a video feed. To help make his long journey from the North Pole possible, CDW Healthcare donated a Cisco TelePresence EX80 system and an Ergotron LiFe-powered Workstation on Wheels to enable Santa to virtually visit children in the hospital playroom. For children in the intensive care unit who were not able to be with the other children in the playroom, the elves delivered a surprise bedside visit from Santa via a mobile cart and iPad equipped with Jabber software to help give each child a fun, holiday-themed experience.

“CDW Healthcare is committed to helping hospitals nationwide leverage technology solutions that help them provide the highest-quality patient care,” said Bob Rossi, vice president of CDW Healthcare. “Cisco’s Santa Connection highlights an especially memorable and creative way of using telehealth solutions to engage with patients and create a memorable experience.”

In addition, CDW Healthcare helped organize and support the event as the hospital’s onsite technology partner and distributed blankets as a special gift for each child at the end of their visit with Santa.
